The SmithFly company of Ohio (US) has developed a way to go camping on the water with the world’s first floating tent. They call it the Shoal Tent, and it measures 2.5 metres by 2.5 metres and weighs just 34 kg. The base of the tent is an inflatable raft and the tent itself is also inflatable so no poles are necessary. It is able to withstand high winds and is, of course, completely waterproof. The tent comes with a storage bag, manual foot pump, and a patch kit. The sides are all detachable so getting in and out is easy should the need suddenly arise.
